As we all know that Longines doubled down with the release of the Record collection last year. Illustrating just how serious they are about creating classically handsome and highly accurate replica watches, with price tags that won’t break the bank. The result was their first-ever COSC-certified collection that combined a variety of dial options and colors, with four different sizes of stainless-steel cases. I have to say that while the collection remained steady in the Longines wheelhouse, there was just that little something missing to greatly draw me in. That was until this year when the replica Longines launched a decidedly luxury version with a blue dial and 18k rose gold case.
The most interesting thing about the Record collection is that each and every version is powered by a chronometer-certified automatic movement, with this version using the Caliber L888.4. Exclusively manufactured for the fake Longines by ETA, the COSC-certified movement uses a silicon balance spring and maintains a power reserve of 64 hours. The case is sized at 38.5mm and made of 18k rose gold with a see-back case back and a water resistance rating of 30 meters. While the sunray blue dial is kept clean and simple, with golden bar indexes marking the hours, and a date window at 3 o’clock. To strap the golden Longines Record to the wrist is a dial-matching blue alligator leather strap.
The case of the fake model is nicely sized and should suit a variety of wrist sizes n paper and indeed in person. And having owned last year’s version of the Record, it’s easy to draw comparisons between their similar comfort-chart on the wrist. But when you strap on this new version, it’s immediately apparent that there’s gold in them hills. After all, this is a solid piece of 18k rose gold. It’s not overly heavy though, and when combined with the grand blue of the sunray dial it wears as gorgeously as it looks.
However, fans of a Calatrava-style case and the classic dress watch style want that little something extra to make their statement. It also wouldn’t hurt if – like me – you’re a sucker for accuracy.
Usage Directions of Replica Rolex Yacht-Master Bezel
The Rolex tends to create a top-shelf version of the Submariner diver’s watch when they developed the Yacht-Master in 1992. Rumor has it that Rolex wasn’t rather brave enough to make any drastic changes to the design of the Submariner itself, resulting in the Yacht-Master being adding to the catalog as its own model. Both models may look similar with the use of a dial topped with lume, a robust Oyster case, and a timing bezel, but they come with two totally different functions. While the Submariner is meant for use while far below the surface of the sea, the Yacht-Master is better suited for the decks of a yacht.
We can see from its name that the Yacht-Master was developed as a tool-watch for sailing, offering waterproof up to 330 feet via a Triplock screw-down crown, a maxi dial with fat hands and larger hour markers, a secure three-link Oyster bracelet, and a bidirectional rotatable timing bezel. Most references feature a bezel crafted from precious metals and distinguished by a sand-blasted insert and raised high-polish graduations. It’s worth knowing that the fake Rolex Yacht-Master was initially only offered in an all-gold finish, with more affordable two-tone options hitting the market shortly after. Tapered lugs complement the luxurious style of the bezel nicely, giving the Yacht-Master a look that stands apart from its muse the Submariner.
Getting back to the Yacht-Master’s status as a sports watch together with a boating replica watch, the bezel’s primary function is to measure amounts of time while at sea as well as sync with race start times. With a build similar to the Rolex replica Submariner, you can expect some of its key functions to operate in the same way.
The first ten minutes on the bezel can be used to sync with Regatta start times, which can be done by aligning the zero position on the bezel with the minute hand, then using the 10-minute hashes to count down to the race start time. The bezel can also be set a certain amount of time into the future, allowing the minute hand to countdown towards that set time, essentially functioning as a timer.
Measuring elapsed time via the replica Rolex Yacht-Master bezel is rather straightforward. To begin with, rotate the bezel in either direction to sync the zero position with the minute hand. The minute hand will point to the amount of time that has passed once finished.
All of these choices are very useful while sailing but have some applications towards life on land too, making the fake Yacht-Master ideal for any lifestyle.
